Anders Folk For Hennepin County Attorney Campaign Fellow 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Campaign Fellows are paid members of the campaign team who support voter engagement, research, communications, and campaign operations. Fellows will gain hands-on experience in a competitive countywide race and exposure to the intersection of law, public safety, and electoral politics. 

This fellowship is well-suited for students and early-career professionals interested in law, criminal justice, public policy, political science, communications, or public service who want meaningful, real-world experience through Election Day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fellows may assist with the following responsibilities: 

  • Voter outreach and direct voter contact 
  • Volunteer recruitment and coordination
  • Legal and policy research
  • Drafting briefing memos and background materials 
  • Digital communications and social media support
  • Event planning and staffing
  • Data entry and database management (VAN or CRM systems) 
  • General campaign and administrative support

Responsibilities will be assigned based on campaign needs and the fellow's interests and skills. 

LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Fellows will gain direct exposure to a countywide prosecutorial campaign and develop practical skills in organizing, research, communications, and voter engagement. Fellows will work closely with experienced campaign staff and receive mentorship throughout the fellowship. 

Participants will build professional references and networks relevant to careers in law, government, advocacy, and public service. This position may be eligible for academic credit, depending on institutional requirements. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Applicants should meet the following criteria: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated interest in law, public safety, criminal justice, or electoral politics 
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work collaboratively 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and follow through on assigned tasks 
  • Availability to work through Nov 3. Position starts as soon as possible

COMPENSATION

This is a paid fellowship. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the program. The campaign is also able to work with students seeking academic or class credit. Compensation and credit arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.
