Early career sales roles at SPS Commerce are designed for people who are motivated to win, eager to learn, and ready to jump in. If you take initiative, follow through, and enjoy working toward clear goals in a fast-paced environment, this is a place where you can turn that drive into real career momentum.
You won’t just learn about SaaS (Software as a Service) sales — you’ll practice it. Through hands-on experience, structured training, and clear performance expectations, you’ll build the foundational skills needed to grow in a sales career.
You’ll also be part of a larger sales organization with a clear growth path and the support to help you get there. While day-to-day work may vary based on business needs, every early career sales role at SPS shares the same focus: developing core sales skills, meeting performance standards, and growing into greater responsibility over time.
What You’ll Do:
As an Associate Account Executive, you’ll be responsible for building strong sales fundamentals and contributing directly to pipeline growth. Responsibilities include:
- Prospect into new and existing accounts through a high volume of outbound and inbound outreach using a consultative sales approach
- Embrace a sales hunter mindset and seek out new opportunities, including cold calls
- Identify, qualify, and uncover sales opportunities by understanding customer needs and business challenges
- Handle objections and rejection with resilience while maintaining consistent sales activity and momentum
- Advance opportunities through the early stages of the sales cycle while meeting defined activity and performance metrics
- Track outreach, insights, and pipeline progress in customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce and other sales tools.
- Apply coaching and feedback quickly to improve performance and take on greater responsibility over time
Location:
This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office presence required at our Minneapolis office.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree OR a combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience
- Demonstrated interest in building a career in revenue-generating roles
- Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to engage and actively listen
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
- Curiosity and willingness to learn through feedback
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or involvement in sales, customer-facing, or goal-driven environments through internships, campus leadership, or part-time work
- Familiarity with SaaS, technology, or B2B environments, including use of customer relationship management (CRM) or sales tools such as Salesforce or similar
- Demonstrated persistence and follow-through in competitive, fast-paced, or high-volume environments
