Marketing Operations Intern
Location: Chicago, IL (River North)

The Marketing Operations & Communications Intern supports the day-to-day execution of the Alliance Française de Chicago's marketing initiatives by ensuring projects move forward on schedule, information is organized, and campaigns are delivered across multiple channels.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, coordination, writing, and problem-solving. The intern helps transform ideas into completed projects by keeping timelines, assets, communications, and internal processes running smoothly. We are looking for someone who understands that effective marketing is about balancing quality with execution, knowing when a project requires meticulous attention to detail and when meeting deadlines are the priority.
You'll work directly with the Marketing Manager while gaining hands-on experience in marketing operations, project management, institutional communications, analytics, brand management, and nonprofit arts administration.
Responsibilities
Campaign Coordination
- Keep marketing projects moving from request to completion.
- Follow up with departments on outstanding deliverables.
- Maintain marketing calendars and project timelines.
- Coordinate campaign checklists.
- Prepare campaign launch materials.
Content & Communications
- Draft email campaigns.
- Update event descriptions.
- Proofread marketing materials.
- Adapt messaging across channels.
Marketing Operations
- Organize marketing assets and shared drives.
- Maintain templates and brand resources.
- Update mailing lists.
- Document workflows and best practices.
Event Marketing Support
- Assist with event promotion.
- Coordinate marketing materials.
- Prepare signage and printed collateral.
- Manage event checklists.
- Capture photo and video.
- Create visual content for promotion.
By the end of the internship, the intern will have:
- Learned how to work with multiple softwares
- Helped launch marketing campaigns on time.
- Improved at least one internal workflow or process.
- Maintained accurate marketing documentation.
- Produced clear reports and organized project files.
- Supported successful promotion of major institutional events.
- Contributed to a more efficient and collaborative marketing department.
After completing the training period, interns may work remotely on designated days. Flexible work hours are offered to accommodate evening event coverage.
Interns also benefit from free language classes at Chicago’s finest institutions for French, Italian, Spanish, and German education.
